Top 10 Reasons Why Nepali Politicians Cannot Be Called Leaders

10. They have some serious responsibility and accountability issues.

9. They aren’t quick to solve anything even if their life depended on it. They are however pretty quick to create problems and blame one another.

8. They have this unique gift to conspire and destroy than to inspire and develop.

7. In any given day, their brains function for less amount of time than there’s electricity in an average Nepali household.

6. They have little patience when they have to listen to our problems – and the answers can be as stupid as they come:

Average Nepali: “हेर्नु न मन्त्रिजी, घरमा पानिको ठेगाननै छैन ..”

Politician: “हो नि .. थाहा छ .. अब पानिनै पर्दैन आकाशबाट .. के गर्ने? हामीले त आफ्नु काम गरेकै हो नि .. थापेर बसेकै छौं क्यारे..।”

5. Get the Politicians from the same party to meet and watch them try to kill one another within 5 minutes.

4. Speak of the Constitution to Nepali Politicians and watch them go: “What? I’m sorry .. could you speak louder please? I can’t hear you .. Consumer? Constable? Cons … What?”

3. Give them a Government and watch them crumble – they haven’t a clue what to do with one.

2. The word “Leader” is not spelled thus: L O O T E R.

1. They make street dogs fighting over a piece of bone look caring, classy, empathetic, understanding, thoughtful, intelligent, and purposeful when compared to them involved in this melee they are causing to feast upon Ministries.

    Thanks Sonia.

I wish I could foretell. Who knows – maybe they’ll scramble to get it out by then? Let’s hope so (however unlikely it may seem) .. gotta be optimistic here, right?

I don’t know whats wrong with nepal and its people…
Nepal even now is considered one of the poorest country in the world… and moreover, there is always something bad going on and on… and…to talk about the maoist is even ‘hell’ worse… They have totally crippled the country…
and the most thought question is.. ” WHEN WILL NEPAL DEVELOP?”
The people even cannot learn frm their neighbouring countries… they are competing to become the next asian giants…with all round development going almost exponentially, may it be in education, industry, finance, marketing, tourism, information technology, infrastructure, etc.

I sometimes think that if that country had people like japanese, would that country be in the same position at present??… or would kathmandu be one of asia’s largest city?? with international markets… with giant economy… what do you say???
I believe that the development of one’s land comes from the people living in that land… and in order for the development to take place… those people should have brains…which should be made up of ‘DEDICATION’,'MOTIVATION’,'LEADERSHIP’,'INTELLIGENCE’,'COMMON SENSE’,'HARDWORK’,'DETERMINATION’,'STRENGTH’,'FOCUS’,'UNITY’,'CLEVERNESS’,'REASONING POWER’, and the least will go on…
If we don’t possess all these, at least we can develop…
PLEASEEEE FOE GOD’S SAKE, LETS MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Much has to do with the ones who govern than the ones who are governed. The latter, I suspect, whom you address as ‘the people’. Nothing really is wrong with them – they are fine, most of the time.

By ‘that country’, I believe you mean Nepal. Most of us Nepalis are perfectly capable of developing our country. It’s not going to happen overnight but it will happen one fine day.

Times, they are changing. We’re not living under the Rana oligarchy or the Shah absolute monopoly on power anymore. If you are to compare Nepal to the likes of Japan, the mass development efforts of infrastructure and reforms on education, land, and several social elements in Nepal should have happened back when Royals were busy killing each other and the Ranas were busy oppressing us.

Now, people are more educated and have gotten more exposure to the way of the rest of the better world. One fine day, we will live in sanity and nothing shall hinder our progress – hopefully.

‘I believe that the development of one’s land comes from the people living in that land’ – nah, I don’t think so. People can just as well help a country develop without living within bounds of the motherlands. After all, home is where you make it and care is where you share it. In case of Nepal, people living outside the boundaries are helping it stagger its way through the economy.
